…As Organisers Say SEDS Will Create Entrepreniural Spirit Among Nigerian Youths, Make Them Employers of Labour

The management of Richword Communication and Media Services, the Publishers of News Emperor magazine said the planned maiden edition of its Students Entrepreneuriual Development Seminar, SEDS will now take place on Thursday June 27, 2024 instead of the earlier April date.

The organisers also said the the inaugural edition of the SEDS would create entrepreniural spirit among Nigerian youths and students and young business aspirants.

They however added that participants at SEDS would be availed the opportunities of becoming employers of labour Instead of Job seekers.

According to a press statement issued by the management of Richword Communication and Media Services, and signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Pastor Ambrose Obioma Okehi, the one-day Students Entrepreneursl Development Seminar (SEDS) which comes with the theme:
“Building Capacity And Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Nigerian Graduates and Undergaduates To Harness The Potentials Abound in Marine And Blue Economy” will be an avenue for up-coming, would-be entrepreneurs and business owners to learn and take cues from experts in the field.

News Emperor magazine is a general interest hardcopy/online magazine published daily and monthly by Rochword Communication and Media Services with special interest on Business, Maritme, Aviation, Energy, Politics, Crime, Judiciary, etc.

The organisers stressed that the seminar is also packaged to prepare the minds of Nigerian youths, who may want to acquire managerial knowledge within the marine and blue economy domain.

In Pastor Okehi’s words: “The seminar will also afford the students, participants or the would-be entrepreneurs the opportunity to identify with the real extrepreneurs, who have already gone through the processes and gained a lot of managerial and technical experiences in the fields, so as to learn from them and create and develop their own business or enterprise”.

Richword boss equally hinted that SEDS is equally meant to create awareness among the Nigerian Youths, students, new entrants in business and other participants who may need to develop their own personal businesses and as well help them develop skills and capacities that would help create self employment instead of seeking for paid employments or waiting endlessly on Government in the unemployment markets.

He further added that: “The Seminar will be chaired by Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogar OON, the President, Master Energy Group and co-chaired by Chief Emeka Onwena, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Mcmanuel Global Logistics Limited.

The one-day event which will bring together Maritme industry technocrats, experts, captains of industry, shipping gurus, transporters, haulage/logistics managers as well as port operators will also help them to discuss and share experiences on how they get to top positions and how best the would be entrepreneurs and skill hunters get to their dreamlands in business management. This would however offer the students’ the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the expert entrepreneurs and capacity developers, interact, discuss, interface and share ideas and experiences on personal business interest and apprenticeship and what have you with each other.

“The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola and his counterpart in the Ministry of Education, Prof. Tahir Manman would be the Special Guests of Honour at the occasion.

The Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, SMEDAN, Charlse Odii will present a paper on “The Role of Small and Medium Size Development Agency, SMEDAN In Building Capacities Among Entreprenures”.

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola will deliver a paper on the topic. “Harnessing and Managing The Numerous Potentials In The Marine and Blue Economy: The Insider’s Perspective”

Meanwhile, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR will also present a paper on the topic: “Policing the Marine and Blue Economy Environment: Whose Responsibility?”

According to the statement, the Keynote addresses would be delivered by the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Mohammed Bello-Koko and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Barr. Pius Akuttah.

The Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, will speak on “Capacity Building In A Marine and Blue Economy” while the President-General of the Maritme Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, Prince Adewale Adeyinju will discuss on “Protecting The Interest of The Capacity Acqiusitors In A Marine and Blue Economy.”

The Guest Lecturers will be the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of God Is Too Much Nigeria Limited, Comrade Peter Umokoro and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of WideScope Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Segun Musa respectively.

Speaking on the benefit of SEDS, Pastor Okehi, who is the Editor-in-Chief/Publisher, News Emperor magazine noted that in this highly educative and sensitive entrepreneurial seminar the participants would be inundated with useful information and exposures that would aid them in starting their own personal businesses.

To him, the 2024 SEDS will equally enable such undergraduate students, graduates participants as well as start-up business owners the needed access to hear directly from key entrepreneurs and experts who had excell in their maritime related businesses.

Another benefit of the SEDS 2024, according to Pastor Okehi, is that it will also create the needed opportunity for the yet-to-be entrepreneurs to boldly venture into their desired areas of dream businesses without wasting time anymore.

The participants, at the end of the SEDS, he said would equally be opportuned to interface, interact, exchange views, opinions, ideas and information with the CEOs that would motivate and later aid them in their various future endeavours in life as businessmen and women.

He then hinted that all interested students, intending business owners should register as participants as they would however be issued with certificates of participation.

Beyond paaticipation, the management of Richword, publishers of News Emperor magazine will equally honour some role models and notable business owners who had played examplary roles in the society, assuring that the event would be highly publicised as News Emperor will be partnering with other notable media organisations with the desire to giving it a wider coverage.
