The new Customs Area Controller, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Comptroller Michael Toying Awe has called for the cooperation of all and sundry for a successful administration.
The Controller said that even though he is not entirely new at the Command, he needs to consolidate on the existing structure which requires the cooperation and support of all and sundry.
He made this remarks on Wednesday while taking over from
Comptroller Mohammed Sani Yusuf who has been redeployed to the headquarters of the Service, in Abuja.
In his hand over speech, Yusuf spoke about his experience at the Command over the past one year and three months.
According to him, on his resumption the daily revenue target was two hundred and twenty five million naira (₦225,000,000.00), but shortly after, the target was increased to four hundred million naira (₦400,000,000.00).
However, he stated that he was able to make 90.2% of the revenue target.
He also spoke on how he managed stakeholders through an open door policy which greatly helped in terms of stakeholders engagement and revenue generation.
He hinted that a total of over Ninety Billion Naira revenue was generated last year against the Sixty Eight Billion of the previous year”.
Yusuf urged the officers to rededicate themselves to duty and give full support to the new area controller.
He advised Comptroller Awe to have a listening ear and to likewise operate an open door policy in order to succeed in his new position.
