The Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam has advised the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, to watch the avoidable rivalry between his association and the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA).
In a terse goodwill message on the occasion of CGC’s 2023 Annual Conference suggesting frosty relationship in the affairs of Customs and ANLCA/NAGAFF, Aniebonam emphatically advised the CGC to remain neutral and concentrate on his statutory duty as the head of Nigeria Customs Service.
The founder of NAGAFF gave reasons why he would not attend the conference, saying that the invite came late even as he was busy with the legal battle at the Supreme Court between his party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) over the Kano State Governorship tussle which was taking most of his time.
He praised the effort of the CGC to reposition the service towards making it a sustainable and more productive revenue collection organisation.
Aniebonam enjoined the Customs boss to keep the good work going as he believed that God would assist him and the management team to make Nigeria great once again.
He was optimistic that after the conference the CGC and the management team shall take responsibility to bring about professionalism in the business of Customs administration and facilitation of international trade.
Wishing the CGC a successful conference, the NAGAFF Founder pledged the support and cooperation of the association to him during his tenure.
