The arrival of Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni, as the twentieth Customs Area Controller of Tin Can Island Port Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, has changed the story of the command, in less than 17 days he took over the leadership of the Command.
So far, the command under Comptroller Dera, has continued to collect 52 per cent of its revenue target of over N801 billion, by the middle of september, living 48 per cent for remaining three months. With this impressive performance, the command has the impetus to meet the target by the end of the year.
The rise in monthly revenue by 120% is the tonic the command under Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni, needed to brace up and meet the target by the end of the year.
On his resumption in l loloffice, on 14th September 2023, he said: “though the command has only collected 52 per cent of its annual revenue target of over N801 billion with barely 3 months to the end of the year 2023, he promised and gave the assurance that he will collect the remaining 48 per cent before the year runs to an end.
Comptroller Dera Nnadi is continuously and already making good effort to keep his promised which has led to increase in monthly revenue by 120%.
In his words: “We have been able to collect our set target of N5.2 billion. I appreciated all the efforts put in by the command’s operatives to achieve this
milestone”.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, SC NN Okwara, is quoted as saying that: “number 13, paragraph 2 of the Ag. Comptroller- General’s press conference paper on his first 100 days in office states that “key performance indicators for the Nigeria Customs Service, were revealing gaps that demand immediate attention”.
In order to key into the performance indicators of the service, Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni, has identified and put in strategic measures in place to block those gaps in Tin Can Island port Area Command.
That is not all, she said in the morning, she noticed the Nigeria Flag flying above the Area Controller on the Google platform.
In the words of Okwara: “Sirs permit me to say that Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni, has staged the Command on a global platform, where all eyes will be. Nevertheless, norms are reformable and the sky can be a starting point for us all”.
In conclusion, she said: “On behalf of the Customs Area Controller TCIP, may i sincerely wish us Happy 63 Independence Day and pray that we join hands with our resolute boss to keep the flag flying”.
