Friday, 15th September, 2023 was a memorable day of celebration as many frontline freight forwarders converge on NAGAFF Village, Apapa, Lagos to celebrate with their own, a notable figure and a man of many parts, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam on his 65th year birthday.
Dr. Aniebonam’s birth without gainsaying gave birth to many births as well as meaning and shape to many destinies.
He is the founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Aside being the founder of two known establishments he is different things to different people.
Dr. Aniebonam is a Customs broker, a freight forwarder, a maritime icon, a freedom fighter, an astute politician, a philanthropist and a moulder of destinies.
No wonder encomiums were poured on him by his lieutenants in their good will messages at the lavished birthday party.
In one of the testimonials, the Deputy National President of NAGAFF, Mr. Simeon Nwonu, said that he had known Dr. Aniebonam since the 70’s when he was in secondary school as a man who fights for justice and freedom.
Nwonu stated further that Dr Aniebonam has always loved to be free to express his mind and so would never be in any institution or establishment that would coerce him or not give room for freedom of expression.
He stressed that this explains why Dr. Aniebonam is not in the cabinet of Igwe in Council of his town since the traditional ruler has the unchallengeable power to remove any council member who refuses to toe the line of the royal father.
Dr. Aniebonam has indeed touched many lives and still touching lives till tomorrow.
He has brought up many people to become great men and women today.
Save for his passion to raise champions many who are great achievers today in their different fields of endeavours would have been consigned to the dustin of history.
With hearts full of appreciations, many people who have benefitted from his unrestrained magnanimity prayed for his continued exploits, sound health and long life on the surface of the earth.
Meanwhile the new Customs Area Controller of Tin Can Island Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, has congratulated the maritime icon on his birthday.
In a congratulatory message the Tin Can Island Customs boss described Aniebonam as the “conscience of Nigeria’s maritime industry”.
