Customs licensed holders have been enjoined to be law abiding and live up to the terms and conditions of their licences whether as individuals or groups.
The Acting Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, made this assertion in his congratulatory message to Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji on his emergence as the National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA)
The CGC, in a press statement signed by National Public Relations Officer of Customs, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada, congratulated Mr. Emenike on behalf of the officers and men of the Service.
The Customs boss said that the election, which took place on Thursday, September 7, 2023, reflected the confidence and trust that the esteemed members of the association have placed in Mr. Nwokeoji.
The statement added that the Acting CGC is confident that Mr. Nwokeoji will provide solid and visionary leadership to ANLCA while working closely with the Nigeria Customs Service to enhance the collaboration between the two organizations.
Furthermore, the Acting CGC lauded the Customs Consultative Council for brokering peace between different factions within ANLCA and for facilitating the process that led to the conduct of a successful election.
The statement further noted that the Service eagerly anticipates a productive partnership in advancing the customs brokerage sector and promoting the interests of customs agents throughout Nigeria.
