Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has commended the Katsina State Governor for donating cash assistance of five hundred thousand naira to the family of chairman of Vigilante group of Tudu Community, late Alhaji Mati Bahago Tudu who died in the line of duty. This was contained in a statement signed by his media aid and Sarkin Labaran Kanwan Katsina Jamilu Hashimu Gora and made available to newsmen.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Banditry and IDPs, Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja led other members of State Government delegation which included the Chairman Kankara Local Government, Alhaji Anas Isah Kankara and Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara to present the cash assistance to the family of the deceased. Presenting the cash assistance on behalf of the Katsina State Governor, Mal. Dikko Umar Radda, the Special Assistant said the money was meant to cushion the effect of economic hardship faced by the family as a result of the loss of their bread winner.
The statement quoted the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor assuring of the Katsina State Government’s commitment to bring to an end the menace of Banditry and kidnapping across the state, and also condole with the community of Tudu and family of the deceased over the loss and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the family to have the fortitude to bear the loss. In his response, the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara described the Late Mati Bahago as a galant vigilante officer who sacrificed his life to protect the community of Tudu in Ketare District. The Kanwan Katsina thanked the Katsina State government for assisting the family of the deceased with five hundred thousand naira and urge the family to make judicious use of the money.
The mornach called on the members of the vigilante group from the area to remain focused and determine to continue to protect their community and not to be distracted by the loss of one of their own. He called on people of the area to always maintain peace and order and to always channel their grievances to the relevant authority for necessary action and not to take laws into thier hands.
The Chairman of Kankara Local Government Area, Alhaji Anas Isah while acknowledging the effort of the state government in providing the assistance to the family of the deceased also assured of government’s political will and determination to end the menace of insecurity across the state.
