The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare and a retired Controller of Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, popularly called UK Bello in his heyday at Customs could not hide his excitement on the appointment of Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi as the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The royal father who had worked with the new Customs boss in the Public Relations Unit of the Service assured the Acting CGC of his supports and readiness to always give him pieces of advice that will ensure he succeeds.
The Kanwan Katsina who described CG Adeniyi’s appointment as meritorious considering his track records and achievements in the Customs service and also been a proper and trained officer who rose through the ranks up to Deputy Comptroller General of Customs (DCG) said he has no doubt that he will perform excellently.
Alhaji UK Bello reiterated his unflinching support for the Acting CG and his resolve to always pray for him and give him advice that will make his tenure as Customs boss a success.
He, however, called on Acting CG Adeniyi to use his experience in the Customs Service to evolve strategies that will boost revenue generation and suppress smuggling activities in the country.
He restated that as Kanwan Katsina who was a retired controller in the Nigeria Customs Service and who worked closely with the new Acting Comptroller General in the Public Relations Unit, he will continue to pray for God’s guidance and good health to enable CG Adeniyi discharge his duties effectively to the nation.
