Kidnapped Ondo Chief Imam Regains Freedom

The Chief Imam of the Uso Community in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Alhaji Ibrahim Oyinlade, has regained freedom from his abductors.

The Chief Imam was kidnapped when he was working in his farm along the Owo-Akure Expressway on Saturday.

A family member of the victim disclosed that the abductors demanded N10m ransom for his release.

However, the family member did not state whether the ransom was paid before the cleric was released.

He said “Though the abductors contacted the family in the morning (Sunday) and demanded N10m, but to God be the glory, he was set free this evening (Sunday) .”

The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya also confirmed the development on Monday morning, June 19, 2023.

She revealed that the victim was released late Sunday evening but could not say if any ransom was paid to the abductors before the cleric was released.
