Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has sworn in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president of Nigeria and Alhaji Kashim Shettima as vice president.
The administration of the oath of office on Tinubu and Shettima was done at Eagles Square in Abuja on this Monday morning.
The swearing in ceremony was witnessed by the out-going President Muhammadu Buhari, former President Goodluck Jonathan and General Yakubu Gowon.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a former President who supported Labour Party candidate, Mr. Peter Obi during the election was absent.
The oath taking ceremony was also witnessed by Tinubu’s wife, Remi; Shettima’s wife, Nana as well as Buhari’s wife.
Among the African leaders at the historic event are the Prime Minister of Gabon, Billy By-Nze, President of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara; Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo; and Rwanda President, Paul Kagame.
President of the African Development Bank Akinwumi Adesina and the President of Dangote Group, Dr. Aliko Dangote were among the dignitaries present at the occasion.
