The three opposition parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party and African Democratic Congress (ADC) have called for cancellation of the presidential election, as the ruling party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in the lead, with results from 19 of 36 states announced.
Results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 19 of country’s 36 states showed the ruling party’s presidential candidate in the lead, ahead of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP, Mr. Peter Obi of LP.

The LP, PDP and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at a joint press conference in Abuja today called for the cancellation of the result.
The LP chairman, Julius Abure, alleged widespread manipulation, adding that INEC compromised the integrity of the election even before collation began.
The parties also called for INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu’s removal and replacement by a credible person.
However, APC has dismissed the opposition’s allegations and enjoined the electoral body to announce the result quickly to defuse tension.
